In the fall of 2023, Sweden Rock began an exclusive collaboration with High Coast Distillery, one of Sweden’s most highly regarded producers of Single Malt Whisky. This time, they present a completely unpeated Single Malt aged for 6-7 years in both Bourbon and Oloroso casks. Sweden Rock 25 is being launched at Systembolaget March 25, and this year’s bottle also features Sweden Rock’s new design.

Sweden Rock Festival’s annual whisky has become a tradition and a highly appreciated release. The first edition was launched back in 2015, making this year’s edition the tenth overall and the second in a row from High Coast Distillery. The alcohol content is 46% by volume, and the refined beverage has been aged in both Bourbon and Oloroso casks. The release is limited to 4,000 bottles, and the highly anticipated Sweden Rock 25 will be available for order at Systembolaget starting today, March 25.
The goal this year was to create a Single Malt Whisky that appeals not only to seasoned enthusiasts but also to consumers who do not consider themselves typical whisky drinkers. Since the whisky is completely unpeated, it has a milder aroma than what many might associate with a more traditional Single Malt. The scent contains citrus and pear notes, topped with slightly sweeter hints of light chocolate and raisins. The taste is smooth and multi-layered, with a complex depth despite its softness. Balanced and flavorful tones of pear, vanilla, light chocolate, and dried fruit are present. The finish is pleasant, with a mild lingering sweetness.
High Coast Distillery will once again be present in the VIP area of Sweden Rock Festival with expanded activations. Additionally, festival attendees will once again have the opportunity to purchase shares in whisky casks, a concept that was a great success last year.
