Gotland Whisky Salvorev

Gotland Whisky Salvorev

Stretching from Fårö to Gotska Sandön, the marine reserve of Salvorev reveals its rugged cliffs during low tide. An idyllic landing spot for seabirds and sunbathing seals, but historically, these rocks were far from idyllic. The Baltic Sea’s last pirate – the legendary Petter Gottberg – was notorious for luring ships aground before plundering their precious cargo.

What he did with the riches remains unknown. Now, as you hold this rum barrel-aged treasure in your hands, you have the power to create your own legendary tale.

Gotland Whisky Salvorev has initially aged for five years in former rum barrels before finishing in Swedish oak (Quercus robur) and American oak (Quercus alba) casks. The total maturation period is between 6 and 7 years, making this edition a six-year-old whisky with an alcohol content of 46%. You can find it at Systembolaget’s three stores on Gotland and through their special order assortment.
